Mark f. Lindsay, President |
Mark Lindsay served in President Clinton’s White House as Assistant to the President for the Office of Management and Administration. As the Chief Operations, Chief Financial, and Chief Information Technology Officer, the Assistant to the President for Management and Administration (M&A) leads the White House’s largest office with a staff of over two thousand five hundred, and managing a budget in excess of one billion dollars annually. This role reports directly to the President and the President’s Chief of Staff. His areas of responsibility included the White House Military Office (e.g., Air Force One, The White House Communications Agency, the Medical Unit and Camp David), to running the White House Operations and the Executive Office of the President’s Office of Administration (e.g., finance, information systems, human resources, legal/appropriations and security). Mark Lindsay managed the financing of Presidential political activities with Democratic organizations including the Democratic National Committee and its Chairman. President Clinton selected Mark Lindsay to be the operational lead for the White House’s 2001 transition preparation and execution.
Prior to his appointment to the White House, Mark Lindsay served as senior legislative aid and counsel to Congressman Louis Stokes (D-OH). On behalf of Congressman Stokes Mark Lindsay worked closely with Democrats and the Congressional Black Caucus on a number of business and economic issues. Significant activities included advising members of the South African Parliament who were responsible for the formulation of the new South African Constitution on United States Constitutional law and the political process. He worked with the Congressman to write national urban environmental revitalization legislation, and he worked on several Congressional task forces addressing such issues as ethics, affirmative action, Congressional redistricting, welfare reform, technology transfer, economic development, and international human rights. Prior to his work with Congressman Stokes Mark Lindsay was a litigator for Dorsey & Whitney, Minneapolis, MN and Schiff, Hardin & Waite, Chicago, IL in that capacity he performed general commercial, securities, and antitrust litigation. Mark Lindsay assisted in the representation of significant business clients including the following examples: CBOE Chicago Board Options Exchange; American Express; Nuveen Investments; and First Bank System (now known as U.S. Bancorp). Mark Lindsay was a member of Senator Hillary Clinton’s Minnesota Finance Committee for her 2008 Presidential campaign, and has been responsible for Presidential transition activities for the Executive Office of the President in 2001 and 2008. Mark Lindsay was the White House Office of Management and Administration agency review team leader for the Obama-Biden transition. He currently serves as a member of the board for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a trustee of Macalester College’s Board of Trustees Emeritus in St. Paul, MN. While working with the UnitedHealth Group, one of the world’s largest healthcare companies Mark Lindsay served in a number of senior positions including President of the AARP Pharmacy Services Division and Vice President of Public Communications and Strategy. He coordinated all of the company’s worldwide contacts with the media as central spokesperson and communications leader. In addition, Mark Lindsay was responsible for developing and expanding the company’s relationship with democratic and republican state, local and national public officials in all fifty states. Mark Lindsay joined the Livingston Group in 2008. At the Livingston Group Mark Lindsay employs his expertise in government relations and private sector management and communications to assist a wide variety of Livingston Group clients. Mark Lindsay focuses primarily on the following Livingston Group practice areas: Health Care and Pharmaceuticals; International Relations/Business Development; and Financial Service and Tax. Mark Lindsay graduated from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota. He obtained a law degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Law, graduated with a Masters degree with a concentration in International Affairs from Georgetown University, and graduated from the Advanced Management program at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School. He is a member of the District of Columbia Bar. |

Josie Lindsay has coached executives in many Fortune 100 and 500 companies throughout the United States and overseas representing multiple industries. She has also facilitated many leadership retreats and team-building interventions in business and public sector organizations.
Before starting her consulting and training business, she was a Manager of Training, Organizational Development and Succession Planning at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Northeast Ohio. She was also formerly the Executive Director of a managed health care facility and a Director of Nursing. Josie has presented at many Regional, State and National Organizational Development and Training Conferences. Her publications include: the co-authoring of Beyond Inclusion: Workplace Interconnectedness, Energy, and Resilience (2014), the co-authorship of Re-Thinking Project Management (June 1994 by IASA); Intact Workgroups as an Organizing Principle for Organizational and Management Development which was published in the Organizational Development Journal of Convention Proceedings; and Managing the Political Side of Change and Technology, published in the annual proceedings of the Association of Systems Management National Conference. She holds a Master’s of Science Degree in Organizational Development and Analysis from the Weatherhead School of Management at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio and is a graduate of Leadership Cleveland and Leadership America. She completed post-graduate programs at the Gestalt Institute and at the University of New Mexico. She has been recognized for her achievements by Akron-Beacon Journal, Crain‘s Cleveland Business, Cleveland Magazine, Kaleidoscope Magazine, Black Enterprise, Public Television and other media sources. She was honored as Entrepreneur of the Year by the State of Ohio in 1991. She was also honored by Johnson & Johnson in 2006 as an outstanding vendor. She is very active in the community and is a member of the President’s Council Foundation Board, a legacy member of the President’s Council, and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. |

Ms. Morris has over 30 years of experience in the area of organizational development and communications and outreach, particularly in the areas of diversity, equity and inclusion. She has extensive leadership and management program development, delivery, and follow-up experience, with significant experience identifying team performance improvement opportunities and facilitation of groups. She is skilled in collaborative relationship management, strategic communications, inclusive community building, organizational resiliency programming and outreach. She has foreign language ability in Spanish, French and Norwegian.
Ms. Morris holds a Master of Science degree in Journalism and Communications from Northwestern University, with additional coursework in Organizational Development at the Kellogg School. Her undergraduate work is from Macalester College in International Studies and Music. Her additional professional development training programs, seminars and graduate school workshops include coursework at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton Business School, the Cape Cod Institute in Massachusetts with Dr. Edgar Schein, and Accenture’s St. Charles University in Illinois. She has provided organizational development and change management strategies including strategic planning, communications, leadership and team development support to federal agency directors and employees, businesses, non-profits, school systems and boards. She is a former senior associate with Booz Allen Hamilton, where she sold and led project engagements for the firm within the Organizational Development and Communications practice area, which she helped establish. She developed numerous communications and public outreach strategies; provided organizational assessment and performance improvement programs; proposed, delivered, and measured people development and change management solutions; and facilitated leadership and team development programs for such clients as the Department of State Office of Medical Services, U.S. Internal Revenue Service, the National Guard, the Department of Defense, and the Defense Information Systems Agencies. Ms. Morris also worked as a senior manager for Accenture in Washington, DC, where she sold and led project engagements for financial services industry clients within the firm’s change management practice. In this role, she designed and implemented organizational development and training interventions, communications and brand management strategies, and managed project teams that developed and provided these programs. She supported infrastructure development of the firm’s financial services practice area, including for clients American Express, Freddie Mac, Merrill Lynch and Flemings Bank. Ms. Morris has managed numerous client engagements for Bell & Lindsay, Inc., specializing in organizational development and training, diversity and resiliency training, program management, and communications and outreach planning. She has provided organizational development and training interventions including change management, designed and delivered numerous workshops, and created and implemented tailored team and leadership development programs. She has developed communications products, marketing strategies and public outreach programs; and has spoken at numerous local, regional and national conferences on such subjects as the human side of technology, and the importance of inclusion and participative change. Dr. Smith is an Associate Professor of Leadership and Management and is the former owner of DLPA Consulting, Inc. She holds a B.S. degree in computer science from Spelman College and M.B.A. and Ph.D. degrees from Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.
Dr. Smith possesses over twenty years of management education, corporate training, and organizational development consulting experience in both the public and private sectors, including team effectiveness and team building strategies, organizational diversity audits, diversity and inclusion education, small-group conflict resolution, and coaching for professional effectiveness. She has consulted with a diverse group of clients as principal consultant, including but not limited to, Cleveland Indians, City of Mentor, KeyBank, SUNY at Albany, University of North Carolina Wilmington, Chapman University, CHEF, and OEConnection. She was a 2013 Department of Defense (DoD), Office of Naval Research (ONR), Summer Faculty Research Fellow. In that role she conducted commander-supporting diversity research for the Department of Defense Equal Opportunity Management Institute (DEOMI) at Patrick AFB, She was inducted as a 2019 Honorary Commander for Joint Base Charleston, and was assigned to the Commanding Officer of Naval Information Warfare Center Atlantic where she strengthened community relations and engaged in a mutual exchange of subject matter expertise, As a faculty member at Pepperdine University, in additional to her classroom and research responsibilities, she served as director of the John Irvine Foundation’s Campus Diversity Initiative grant program’s assessment and was founding co-chair of the University’s first diversity council. Smith also served as a faculty member at Butler University and California State University Channel Islands. Smith has published several research articles which address intersections of adult learning, experiential learning, management education, human diversity, spirituality and religion at work, and ethical decision-making. She has presented at the Academy of Management, Western Organization Management Teaching Conference, American Psychological Association, and various American Association of Colleges and Universities conferences. She is a member of various civic organizations. VELVET WEEMS-LANDINGHAM, PH.D.Dr. Velvet Weems-Landingham is an Associate Professor of Management at Kent State University and serves as a Senior Consultant for Bell & Lindsay, Incorporated. She possesses a B.S, in Communications and Public Relations from Syracuse University, a Master’s in Management and Public Policy from Carnegie Mellon, and a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from Case Western Reserve University. In addition, she has provided executive training and consulting to numerous fortune 500 companies. Areas of consultancy include but are not limited to: leadership, competency development, emotional intelligence, individual & group effectiveness, technology integration and implementation, strategic planning & development, and human resource management.
Dr. Weems-Landingham possesses over twenty years of management consulting experience in both the public and private sectors, including a number of organizational management studies associated with implementing virtual work as a means to enhance organizational efficiency and effectiveness. She is a former Strategic Management Consultant for Skill Soft, formally SmartForce, the industry’s largest provider of Internet and Intranet-based training and development solutions. A major component of her work focuses on implementation and utilization of information and communications technologies to solve business problems. Areas of expertise include but are not limited to: leadership development, strategic planning, technology-enhanced teaching and learning, competency assessment and development, emotional intelligence, and appreciative inquiry. MARTHA J. LINDEMAN, PH.D.
Dr. Lindeman's dissertation research in psychology (Harvard, 1985) modeled how people create and use categories for interacting with reality. Immediately after graduation, she became a full-time consultant on a Federal contract supporting the design of interactive systems for aviation crews. Her consulting services then broadened to include business-process systems in government and industry, such as financial services, insurance, healthcare, content storage/retrieval, multimedia creation, customer service, and others. Her background expertise includes double-entry financial accounting, logistics, and many kinds of technologies.
For more than 25 years, Dr. Lindeman’s consulting focus has been improving organizational and design processes. For example, for the Social Security Administration (through Lockheed Martin) she was the user-requirements lead for two projects that were first to move their paper-based processes to the Internet for public use. This included governance issues such as identifying roles for policy-making and decision-making processes, and identifying how to comply with legal, regulatory, and policy requirements. Each of the projects successfully completed both rounds of Agency approval, and both won special recognition awards. Dr. Lindeman is an expert facilitator, presenter, and workshop-leader that can engage very diverse groups in process tasks such as business analysis. She also has led training workshops, such as coaching, performance appraisal, communication, team-building, and persuasion. Her special-purpose workshops include a series of facilitated meetings that identified the client organization's strategic technical competencies, along with the outsourcing strategy providing the desired return while protecting intellectual properties. Anita Alexander has over twenty years of training, coaching and consulting experience in strategy, leadership development and communication skills for technical professionals in Government, Fortune 500 companies and small businesses. Her consulting work focuses on the development and improvement of leadership skills of technical professionals in executive and management positions.
Ms. Alexander began her career as a project electrical engineer in the Construction of Facilities division at NASA Glenn Research Center, Cleveland, Ohio. Her primary responsibilities involved the design and construction of electrical power systems and networks supporting research and test facilities. She later became a project manager of multi-disciplined project teams in the design and construction of various Space and Aerospace facility modifications and new construction. She has won several awards for her engineering expertise and project leadership. She later became an administrator and internal management consultant working directly for the Center Director and in the Office of Strategic Management. She has received several awards for her outstanding leadership on strategy teams and special assignments. She holds B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University. She received her M.S. degree in Industrial Engineering from Cleveland State University, and is a graduate of the Simmons College Program for Developing Managers in Boston, Massachusetts. DR. LESLIE D. PARCHMENT, M.P.H.Leslie Parchment, D.O., M.P.H, physician, executive and consultant with significant accomplishments in developing business strategies, integrating delivery systems, improving quality and utilization management programs and coaching medical staff on healthcare business and practice issues. Formerly, Director of Operation at a local HMO. She holds a medical degree from Des Moines University and a Master’s of Public Health Degree from Hunter College. She completed her internship at St. Luke’s Hospital, Cleveland, Ohio and her residency in Internal Medicine at Akron General Medical Center, Akron, Ohio.
Dr. Parchment serves as the Director of Health and Wellness Education and Integrative Wellness for Bell & Lindsay. She has coached in a wide variety of public and private sectors. She has taught at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine, at Southern Ohio College, and at Cuyahoga Community College. She has developed and implemented health promotion and health education programs on preventative wellness care, stress management, fitness, and nutrition, and has been a liaison to health regulators and review organizations. She has planned and promoted organizational transformations to continuous quality improvement programs for clinical delivery systems. Dr. Parchment is experienced in wellness program planning, design, management and evaluation, and on wellness and prevention, offering educational programs and presentations designed to assist individuals in changing their health outcomes through improved diet and lifestyle habits. She also assists employers in reducing the costs of health insurance and medical care for employees; and educates health care professionals about how to use diet and lifestyle for preventing, reversing, and stopping the progression of chronic diseases. |
